If you’ve ever dreamed of fairy-tale forests, mountain villages, and the charm of traditional German hospitality, our 7-day coach holiday to the Black Forest offers the perfect escape. Combining the comfort of modern coach travel with the romance of a P&O ferry crossing, this trip takes you from your local UK pick-up point straight into the heart of Europe’s most enchanting landscapes.

The Journey Begins – UK Pick-Ups & Ferry Crossing

Your adventure starts the moment you board one of our UK coaches, collecting you from your allocated pick-up point. With spacious seating and luggage carefully stowed, we travel together to Hull Ferry Port.

Here, you’ll check in for your P&O overnight sailing to Rotterdam Europort, where your baggage travels with you on board. Each guest enjoys the comfort of a private overnight cabin, allowing you to freshen up, relax, and rest during the crossing. Meals and refreshments are available to purchase from a variety of restaurants, cafés, and bars on board – from hearty dinners to lighter bites and late-night snacks.

As the ferry sails overnight across the North Sea, you can explore its facilities: onboard shops for duty-free bargains, cosy lounges for relaxation, and viewing decks where you can enjoy the sea air and watch the sunset. A peaceful night’s sleep ensures you’ll be ready for the adventure ahead.

The following morning, after docking in Rotterdam Europort, we disembark with our baggage and join our luxury European touring coach – specially designed for long-distance comfort and air-conditioning.

Welcome to the Black Forest

Arriving at our base in Oberharmersbach, you’ll discover why the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) has enchanted visitors for centuries. Famous for its dense evergreen woodlands, rolling hills, sparkling lakes, and traditional timber-framed villages, the region feels like stepping into a storybook. This is the land of cuckoo clocks, cherry gateaux, and centuries-old traditions.

The Black Forest’s scenery is breathtaking in every season – from lush green meadows dotted with farmhouses to mountain peaks offering panoramic views. The air is fresh, the pace of life gentle, and the hospitality warm.

Your Hotel – The Bären, Oberharmersbach

Your holiday home for four nights is the welcoming Bären Hotel, a traditional family-run hotel located in the heart of Oberharmersbach. With its rustic timber exterior and cosy interiors, the Bären blends authentic Black Forest charm with modern comforts.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, well-furnished bedrooms with en-suite facilities, satellite TV, and balconies in many rooms offering mountain views.
  • Meals: Enjoy a hearty continental breakfast each morning and a delicious evening meal each night. Expect regional flavours – think hearty stews, seasonal vegetables, and, of course, a chance to taste Black Forest gateaux.
  • Hospitality: The Bären is known for its warm welcome, where staff greet you like family and ensure your stay is memorable.
Included Excursions

Your holiday includes carefully chosen day trips to showcase the very best of the region:

Titisee & Triberg Waterfalls
  • Visit Lake Titisee, a sparkling glacial lake surrounded by pine forests, ideal for a stroll along the waterfront or browsing local shops.
  • Continue to Triberg, home to Germany’s highest waterfalls. Watch the cascades tumble dramatically down forested cliffs and explore the town’s cuckoo clock workshops.
🇫🇷 Strasbourg (France)

Cross into Alsace, France, and discover Strasbourg’s unique blend of French and German influences. Explore its UNESCO-listed old town with half-timbered houses, canals, and the stunning Strasbourg Cathedral. Don’t miss the quaint La Petite France district, where cobbled streets and waterside cafés invite you to linger.

Freiburg & Schauinsland

Head to Freiburg, a vibrant university city known for its Gothic cathedral, cobblestone streets, and lively market squares. After exploring, take a scenic drive up to the Schauinsland mountain for breathtaking views across the Black Forest and, on clear days, as far as the Swiss Alps.

The Return Journey

After four nights at the Bären Hotel and days filled with exploration, we board our European coach once again for the return journey to Rotterdam.
