Upon arrival in Torquay, you will check into the Trecarn Hotel and enjoy a welcome evening meal.
A full day at leisure to explore Torquay at your own pace. This elegant seaside resort offers something for everyone:
- Take a stroll along the harbour and marina, lined with palm trees and boutique shops.
- Visit Torre Abbey, an 800-year-old abbey with beautiful gardens and art collections.
- Explore the Torquay Museum, home to fascinating exhibitions including the Agatha Christie Gallery.
- For nature lovers, wander through the colourful Princess Gardens, or take a boat trip along the coast (seasonal).
Return to the hotel for your evening meal and relaxation.
Today, we journey by coach through South Devon’s rolling hills to the picturesque town of Dartmouth, renowned for its narrow streets, historic buildings, and stunning riverside views. Explore the charming town at leisure before joining a delightful river cruise along the River Dart (admission not included). You’ll pass verdant countryside, quaint villages, and even spot the famous Dartmouth Naval College from the water. After ample time to soak in the atmosphere, we return to Torquay in time for dinner.
Today’s excursion takes us to the maritime city of Plymouth. Begin with a scenic drive across the Devon countryside before arriving at this historic port city. You’ll have free time to explore highlights such as:
- The Barbican with its cobbled streets, art galleries, and waterside cafes.
- Plymouth Hoe, where Sir Francis Drake once played bowls, offering panoramic sea views.
- Optional visit to the Mayflower Museum (admission not included), chronicling the voyage of the Pilgrim Fathers.
Later, we return to the hotel for our final evening meal and the chance to enjoy some light entertainment.
After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Torquay. We rejoin the coach for a comfortable journey back to your local drop-off points with fond memories of your holiday on the English Riviera.
